The Elephant Who Almost Became a Giraffe
Not long ago an elephant got separated from his herd. He was very young. At first he ran frantically about trying to see over the next hill. He looked into the woods in the east, and ran until exhausted to see beyond the constantly disappearing horizon– to find his parents.
A Man and A Horse
A long time ago, a man was walking out in the countryside, taking in the scenery and generally just enjoying being on the planet, when a very large horse came trotting easily over the brow of a low hill, coming right toward the man.
IT’S OUR BALL!!!
Greg was eight. Doug was seven. They were new members at the Federal Way, Cascade Division of the Boys and Girls Club Munchkin Basketball League. I was their Dad. I was a first time participant in Boys and Girls Clubs, or any club for that matter. I had not played organized sports since my earlier frolic with the Flying-A Little League team in Kennewick, Washington in 1960-1961.
